What is a Megapixel?

When buying a digital camera the most important variables to consider is the quality of the image senson, not the megapixel that so many people focus on. But that doesn't take away from the importance of a megapixel. So what exactly is a megapixel? Simply put, a megapixel is equal to one million pixels.

Megapixels directly relates to file size, but in terms of color channels. The primary colors that are directly related to digital photography are Red, Green & Blue (RGB), with each color assigned its own channel. So, when you are told you have a camera that renders a 6 megapixel file that each color channel is assigned approximately six million pixels. But how does this relate to the digital file your camera produces? To determine the approximate size of a files take the number of megapixels and multiply by 3 (once for each color channel) and you will arrive at the approximage full size file. The reason I state approximage size is that each camera has different size and quality sensors that factor into the file size.

Micro Four Third Cameras for the Holidays

MFT (Micro FourThirds) cameras are going to be the rage for photo enthusiast this holidayseason. What exactly is so specialabout the MFT cameras that make them so great? Micro Four Thirdscameras have larger sensors that offer better image quality, andinterchangeable lenses. Some lenses feature a greater range of aperture settingthat will allow you to control depth-of-field.

Micro Four Thirds cameras tend to be a bit largerthan compact cameras and yet considerably smaller than DSLRs making them thecamera that offers the best of both worlds.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Breath of Life Gala a Big Hit

Larmon Studios was proud to be a sponsor for the 6th Annual Breath of Life Gala hosted by the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Downtown Sheraton.

ABC 6 Meteorologist, Adam Joseph, was the Master of Ceremonies for the evenings events. Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Executive Vice President and COO, C. Richard Mattingly delivered amazing news that included how CFF and major pharmaceutical companies have been working closely together and as a result, he announced, a new drug was being sent to the FDA for approval that can begin improve the quality of life for approximately 3 percent of those with CFF. Approval is expected sometime in early spring of 2012. He also announced that another drug will soon be on its way to the FDA for approval. Once both drugs are approved, Mr. Mattingly announced that when combined the drugs will be helpful in improving life for nearly 90% of individuals who have CFF.

The evening included 5 Hospitals being honored with the Breath of Life Recognition Award. And featured a riveting speech from Colette Bleistine, who is endearing earned the nickname "Miracle on 34th Street". Colette, who has CFF, spoke about her life experience living with CFF. Upon conclusion I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.

Dan Hilfery, President and CEO of Independence Blue Cross, presented the Breath of Life Award to the evening's guest of honor, Jerry Maginnis, Managing Partner of KPMG. Mr. Maginnis has donated hundreds of hours to CFF and other worthy foundations working tirelessly and selflessly to help other.

The evening concluded with the close of a Silent Auction to which Larmon Photo and Larmon Studios both generously donated items and portrait sessions.

Florists know Best!

Bet the last place you thought you be obtaining information about flowers would be from a photographer.

When you consider that I have very little horticultural knowledge, unless you needed someone to plant trees, plants and/or shrubs, what words of wisdom can I shed? What I can share is practical experience.

I've seen a lot of happy and unhappy brides in my day. When flowers are involved I have found that most unhappy brides were upset because their flowers were wilting, falling apart or were plain out dead. Unfortunately for these brides 90% of these instances was not the florists fault. Over the years I've learned that some brides, believe it or not, want what they want, and do not care how they get it. In reality this translates to brides who do not listen to their florist and put them in the position of "forcing" the flowers to bloom out of season.

Every wedding vendor wants to please their couples. But like every marriage, the relationship between vendor and client is a two way street. I if you want the best out of a vendor you must be willing to work with them and "listen" to what they have to say. In the case of a florist, you should bring in swatches of the materials for the dresses and tuxedos. Show them to the florist and tell them what kinds of flowers and colors you want, then ask them "what is in season that you feel will work best" to give you the best results. What you have accomplished is creating a positive relationship with the florist because he/she recognizes you're willing to work with them and not fight with them.

With regards to flowers and your photographs, try to keep it simple. Be sure to keep the overall size of the bouquets at least 30% smaller that the waistline of whomever is carrying it.

New in the Family

Not many photographers get to experience the joy of life and family as do I. As a third generation photographic artist I have had the pleasure on several occasions of photographing the weddings of children for whose parent's my father had the pleasure of photographing. We truly are a family business.

I first met Abbe and Andrew back in 2009. Later that summer, we spent the afternoon at the Philadelphia Art Museum photographing their "Love Story" session. My daughter and I had a blast really getting to know them. I could tell by the way Abbe and Andrew took to Meg that they would be great parents when the day came.

Their wedding day was a few weeks later on the Main Line. To say that their wedding was less than spectacular would be an understatement. As you can see in the ceremony photography above, Ten Pennies Florist did an amazing transformation of one of the banquet rooms into a beautiful sanctuary for their ceremony. Afterwards the party never stopped as it rocked into the the early hours of the next day!

I was overjoyed to learn from Abbe's father, Steve, that she and Andrew were expecting their first child this year. I recently had the pleasure of meeting their son Mason while creating their first family portraits.

Wedding Photography Advice - Colors

When it comes to the color of a dress I'm sure the last thing you wouldconsider is advice from a photographer, that is, unless you were related toone.

Let's begin with a high school science lesson. Here goes, first thing I cantell you is that a good photographer understands the visible spectrum of light.Sound familiar? Probably not; but it is the part of the electromagneticspectrum that is visible to the human eye such as in a rainbow. The colors in arainbow are all the colors of visible light that can be produced on awavelength.

Enough science, what does this mean to you? What it means is that althoughwe can see all the colors in a rainbow, unfortunately cameras do not!Technology has yet to catch up with the human eye. This needs to be consideredwhen you are purchasing clothing in which you want to be photographed. Violetis at the far end of the visible light spectrum and does not accuratelyreproduce when photographed; unfortunately violet appears blue whenphotographed.

The color of material is not the only variable to consider. Materials play ahuge roll in how a color appears. No matter what type of material is used itreflects light. Most people never consider how much light changes based onwhere you are located. Whether you are inside, outside on a cloudy or a sunnyday, outside in the shade of a tree or a building, on grass, dirt or evenconcrete, light color is different. The same material will photographdifferently in all these instances. Now let’s take into account the type ofmaterial used, shinny/glossy, matte/dull, smooth/silky or textured/rough. Thesevariables play into the equation as much as the color. Light colors reflectbrighter and darker colors absorb more light and reflect less color. Funny, asI am writing this I am thinking how most of what I am writing also affects skintone as well.

So what works to get great results? For better photographs my advice is toavoid the color violet, including some purples, and select a non-glossy/shinnymaterial for your bridesmaid’s dresses.

Advice to a Bride

I was recently asked by afriend what would be great advice she could give her favorite niece regardingpreparation for her wedding day photographs. I laughed and exclaimed how Ialways wanted to write a book of wedding horror stories that perhaps engagedcouples would be able to chuckle at as they learned of others misfortunateexperiences. I then offered my advice, exclaiming time management and howcritical it is to select vendors who understand the domino effect of theiractions and how they can end up affecting the entire flow of a wedding day.

I've learned moreabout photographing weddings by experiencing them rather than anything I everlearned in a seminar! So I would have to declare the most important thing for asuccessful wedding is time management! Timing a day so everything runs smoothlyis imperative. As a photographer, I have taken the brunt of the blame for why abride was running late for her ceremony, when in fact it was an emotional morning, stuck in traffic, a hair stylist and/or make-up artist who was late or simply just took too much time! Fact is, thereare many variables to consider besides a vendor running behind schedule thatcan throw a kink into the timing of your perfect day!

I learned my lesson and beganto carefully schedule the photography around the day better. For instance, Ibuilt in a buffer for the bride who was running behind schedule. Withouttelling a couple I was doing this for their protection, I would, during ourpre-wedding consultation two months prior to the wedding day, schedule the"getting ready" and bride's family portraits to begin a few hoursprior to ceremony time. I then would schedule the time that I would meet thegroom, groomsmen and the groom's family at the place of ceremony in order tocapture "hanging our" and portraits prior to the ceremony so I was alsoprepared for the bride's arrival. I would explain to the bride that this wouldallow her to spend some time hanging out with her family and friends and giveher the opportunity to arrive at her ceremony with the dignity all bridesdeserve. After all, why should she be rushed off to her ceremony creating morestress than is necessary on her big day?

Truth is, I really created aone to two hour buffer prior to the ceremony time. Imagine if the bride wasrunning late at the hairdresser and with the make-up artist, not that it wouldever happen, but if such an instance were to occur it would now be possible tostill create all the images necessary where the bride was dressing with theburden of having to play catch up with the groom and his side of the familylater in the day. Believe it or not this strategic tactic has actually saved mea few times, including once when a bride decided she needed to have a spamorning and ran an hour and a half behind our planned start time before sheeven had her hair and make-up done. Thank god for small miracles!!

Everyone has great intentionsof having the perfect day and the perfect photographs, but when the day arrivessomehow time seems to move in warp drive and when push comes to shove the photographyis the last thing on everyone’s mind. Takea moment and consider that you ceremony is over and you just finished greetingall of your friends and family on the receiving line, what is the next thing youreally want to do? Have your photograph taken with your family and the bridalparty or just to start the party?

Avoid the “domino effect”that can be created by poor planning/time management. Don’t let time managementruin your day. If you have issues managing your time, you may want to seriouslyconsider a professional wedding planner who will coordinate your time andmanage your day. If you are a DIY couple and choose to bypass a professionalwedding planner, you should consider many variables when planning your weddingthere are many variables. The following comprise the most overlooked, but,obvious time factors:

Time you need to have your make-up and hair completed.
Time your florist should actually deliver your flowers.
Travel time from where you are dressing to the ceremony location.
Length of your ceremony.
Length of time for your receiving line. (15-20 seconds per guest).

example: 100 guests yield a 25-34 minutereceiving line.

Travel time to park or location for photo session.
Duration of the photo session.
Travel time to the reception location.

I'm positive you considered the value that each of the vendors you carefully selected experience brings to the table. When considering your timetable it is important that you 'listen' to your vendors and not dictate to them. Let them know what you want and let them tell you what they can do for you.

Remember, the combined experience of all your vendors and a great wedding planner will guide you to a successfully planned day.

98th Annual ZBT Convention in Atlanta

I just returned from a recent assignment in Atlanta to photograph the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity National Convention and Leadership School. While attending the University of Miami back in the early 1980’s I became a brother at the Alpha Omega Chapter of ZBT, and, as many of us do, I limited my active days of brotherhood to my time in school. Of course I maintained friendships with a few of the brothers over the years, but really, with the exception of one or two brothers who remained local, none of us became more involved with our chapter or continued on to working with our national office.

After experiencing all the events, meeting brothers past and present, I returned from Atlanta with a renewed faith in brotherhood. Not just for ZBT, but for all fraternal organizations. It was amazing to witness the comradely of brothers who have been giving back to ZBT for years, and seeing new bonds grow with brothers who live and attend college on different coasts. It was awe inspiring, and was delighted to have shared this with my daughter. Megan assisted me throughout the convention and was embraced by all. I even heard rumors that I should retire as she had everything under control. She got to witness first hand something that many do not experience until they reach college. She had lots of questions starting with does everyone here know each other? Then explanations of what brotherhood and someday what sisterhood for her would mean ensued.

What lead me to Atlanta and this year’s convention were two brothers, Jason Krane and Faron Lewitt, whose mission was to reach out to “fallen” alumni such as myself. It was a great meeting that lead to my volunteering my time to create portraits of the supreme council members and ZBT’s support team, but lead to my creating a portrait of 300 plus brothers; a ZBT tradition that had fallen by the wayside back in the early 1990’s. It was one of the craziest portraits I’ve had the pleasure to create. Over 300 individuals from all over the country who attended college anywhere from the 1940’s to present all tied together by the bond of brotherhood. I must admit I got chills, in a very humid environment, when somehow arm in arm everyone broke out singing the fraternity song.

ZBT’s Credo is Intellectual Awareness, Social Responsibility, Integrity and Brotherly Love. What I realized during my trip was how these attributes that were instilled by my fraternity played a role in the man I’ve become today. Whereas I have donated time and money to other well deserving charities and organizations, it was more than heartwarming to finally do something positive to probably the one group that gave so much to me and the countless others who have or will walk through the doors of brotherhood at Zeta Beta Tau or any other fraternity or sorority. I am and forever will be proud to be a ZBT!

Can Pictures Really Talk?

It’s been said that a picture paints a thousand words, but to children photographs speak volumes. Leading children doctors and psychiatrists have been telling us for years that early child development should include exposing our children to photographs of themselves and their family member. When a child sees their image around their home it supports a sense of well-being and builds self-confidence.

Visual affirmation is essential in a child’s development. Parents should place photographs of school events, family trips and photos of children with their friends to support a child’s sense of belonging and having a meaningful place in life. When you have sometime read Photo Therapy in Mental Health, by David Krauss, Ph.D., and Jerry Fryear,Ph.D.. According to Krauss, “It is important not only to be photographed in ways that indicate caring, nurturing, love and success, but also to see those images and take them in.”

Today, many psychologist use portraits in therapy with children and suggest parents do the same by continually reviewing family albums with children about 30 minutes prior to going to bed. It is said this is when children are most receptive to absorb anything more than any other time of the day! So take this time to show them photos of relatives and friends who live far away or are deceased. When you show children images supporting positive emotions just before they go to sleep is important to reinforcing a child’s self-esteem.

Some interior designers have picked up on these theories and are now suggesting this as positive impact to decorate nurseries with portraits of children and family in lieu of cute designs and wallpaper themes. No matter if you use family snapshot or professionally created portraits, photographs tell volumes about the individuals they portray. For adults it is about creating memories to look back on, but for children they are stories to build their lives on.

In Business It's All About Your Image!

It used to be said the most important thing in business and sales was Location, Location and Location. Back in those days savvy business owners knew that visibility to the public was imperative to a business’s financial success. Insightful business people today are embracing the rapidly evolving cyber world of social media, web sites and blogs. Texting and Instant Messaging have become how we communicate, Web sites have become our face/storefront, our blogs our voice and social media our way of marketing ourselves.

Times when our first impressions were generally personal have been reduced to visual images and the written word. This is why today your image is everything. Ask yourself what a potential client’s first impression of you is when they first see you on your website, blog, social mediums and even in printed materials. If you are like most, you probably have a snap shot taken with a point and shoot camera by a family member, friend, or even a co-worker. Most people settle for just about anything just to get having the photograph taken and done with. They do not care that the photograph looks like a “mug” shot or that their faces look distorted or that there are unnecessary shadows where they don’t belong. We all know how much family means to us! So, when we reach a special mile stone such as a 50th wedding anniversary it is a natural that families celebrate together!! For if not for our parents, what would be? Having had the pleasure of creating family memories such as the Driscoll Family portrait it makes me think how lucky I am to about to be celebrating 15 years of marriage to my best friend. Of course every relationship has their ups and downs, but I almost feel an obligation and a sense of curiosity to ask "how'd you do it?" The few times I've actually had the nerve to ask I am always met with some sort of sarcasm followed by the words of wisdom, "I married my best friend" and "we respect for one another".

After spending time planning this portrait with Peggy I had the pleasure of meeting Mike, her children and grandchildren. Orchestrating the 31 members of the Driscoll Family was fun. After the portrait we created here, their children surprised them by bringing top hats and bouquets so we were able to create a bridal party pose with both the immediate and extended family. Blast From The Past

Hi all! Hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July festivities. Just back from NY and from a short stay in my hometown of Glen Cove. I think one of my favorite things about Glen Cove, beside friends & family, is the history the town owns.

Founded in 1668, I was a child of six when the city celebrated its tri-centennial! I have been working on a project to preserve the city's photographic history as my father created many of them beginning as early as 1967. In my lifetime I have seen the city through many of its physical changes. As I look through negatives and slides I feel like I'm looking through family photos in a way. Although none of my family members are in the photographs, many memories are relived.

For those of you who are not familiar with Glen Cove, the city has a storied past. Glen Cove is the epicenter of Long Island's "Gold Coast" as Mansions, too many to count, were erected during the "Gatsby Era". Its residents have included the likes of J.P. Morgan, F.W. Woolworth, the Pratt brothers (Charles, George, Harold, Herbert and John), 1976 Olympic Gold Medalist, Howard Davis, Jr, Joe Namath, Billy Joel, Mel Gibson, Mike Piazza, and Roy Campanella, Telly Sevalas, Donald Sutherland, Ashanti and many other celebrities and dignitaries.

Glen Cove has been a host location to many movies including, both versions of Sabrina (1954 with Humphrey Bogart & Audrey Hepburn & 1995 with Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond), Alfred Hitchock's North by Northwest (1959 with Carey Grant) Annie Hall (1977 with Woody Allen and Kiame Keaton), Hair (1979), Arthur (1981 with Dudley Moore and Liza Minneli), JP Morgan's private train station was the background setting for Tom Hanks and Shelly Long in The Money Pitt(1986), Hello Again (1987) Webb Institute (formerly the property of Herbert L. Pratt, the original estate was called The Braes) was used for Batman Forever (1995 with Val Kilmer and Nicole Kidman), Sex and the City 2 (2010), and most recently, yesterday, USA's television series "Royal Pains" which used the Glen Cove Mansion (formerly the 1910 Estate of John and Ruth Pratt known as the Manor House) was filming scenes for an upcoming episode.

The photo included in this article was created by my father and mentor, J. Robert Mantler in January of 1969. The photo depicts the Manor House just after it was purchased by a group who renamed it the Harrison House Conference Center. Today, the Manor House has seen many renovations including expansive conference and guest rooms.

I know I got a little off tangent, however, it does lead me to the point of this blog; no matter how we take the simple day to day lives we lead, someone needs to document the events for us and for future generations to relive. Although I now live and am creating new memories here in the Philadelphia area, it is because someone cared to preserve the past that I can relive the memories. Thanks Dad, Joel Davidson and to everyone else who records history through photographs.

Holiday Photo Tips!

Happy July everyone! As we are now upon the weekend of July 4th I cannot help but think of all the families that will be gathering for bbq’s and plain old family fun. Looking back all I have are memories. Although family members did take photographs and shoot 8mm home movies no one in the family can recall whatever happened to them.

Today we are lucky to have digital technology in both still and video mediums. Many of today’s cameras permit us to shoot both; however, no matter how you capture the fun times it’s important to remember a few things. First and foremost, transfer the files to your computer and do not erase your disc/card until you have created a back up copy and have checked that the files transferred properly without corruption. Once you have a viable back up it is okay to erase your camera disc/card.

After you have completed saving and backing up your files you should think of sharing your files with other members of your family and friends who may have an interest in having the files to include with their family photos/videos. Having paper copies printed as gifts for family and friends or to include in your personal albums is a great way to preserve your memories. There are many venues that you can use to easily have your digital files printed such as Larmon Photos online portal at larmonphoto.com and click start. These sites allow you to upload your files, crop them and tell the lab what size you would like to have printed. Best of all you don't even need to leave your home unless you choose to as the prints can either be available to be shipped or for local pick up at one of Larmon’s many locations.

Creating Timeless Memories - A Family Tradition

I'm sure many of you have heard the old cliche, "what happens today are tomorrow's memories"! Photographs, whether created by family and friends or a professional, mean so much to our society. For it is the photograph that allows us to transend time and relive specials moments in our lives or the lives of generations before us. We all are guilty of remarking how time flies by and how fast our children grow. Personally, it feels like yesterday that I was holding my 12 year old daughter when she was only a newborn.

I cherish all the family photographs and videos we have created over the years as they are in essence the time machine that takes me back my happy places when I need a good laugh or just a smile. But what really is amazing is to see how children love to look at both old and recent photographs. Photographic or not, children associate with images and learn from them. As we grow older photographs become more sentimental as they are generally associated with memories. For parents, the ability to sit and look through images of their children growing up is a magical experience that in a isolated time frame allows them to witness their child's life journey to the person they have become, not matter what age. Being a third generation photographic artist, sometimes I take for granted how lucky we are to have the luxury of capturing these memories. Back in the day, not too long ago when you consider the timeframe history affords us, one had to sit for a portrait to be sketched or painted. How lucky are we that have the technology to freeze time?

It is fun to capture memories on a day to day basis, however, when it comes to "once in a lifetime memories" you should not trust them to a "once in a while photographer". Selecting a family portrait photographer is no different that selecting your families physician. You want to make sure that your personalities click and that the photographer is a qualified professional that belongs to a professional association such as the Professional Photographers of America (http://www.ppa.com/) where you can actually research their credentials. Photographer's that belong to professional organizations such as PPA can earn Certification by passing both written exams and artistic image review. Once Certified, a PPA Certified Professional Photographer must continue their education in order maintain a level of excellence while improving their craft and earn the right to have their Certification renewed once every 5 years. Within PPA, Certification is required prior to obtaining elite degrees such as Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman.

Sandy Run Middle School's 6th Grade Falcons Soar

Congratulations to the Sandy Run Middle School's 6th Grade Falcon Team are well in order!! The team, headed by their science teacher Mr. Michael Nelms, earned top state and national honors at this year's Igniting Creative Energy (I.C.E.) competition. The I.C.E. competition, sponsored by Johnson Controls, Kohler and the National Energy Foundation, encourages kindergarten thru 12th grade students to recognize and develop creative actions and ideas about energy efficiency. More simply put, how to create a "greener" global environment.

This year marked the 10th anniversary for the competition as well as Mr. Nelms' third experience leading a team from Sandy Run to national and state honors! Although he is quite outgoing, Mr. Nelms is humbled by his students. They are his pride and I believe his success is directly proportionate to the inspiration he leads with. As a parent, it is wonderful to see an educator, like Mr. Nelms, who is truly all about his students!

Larmon Studios is proud to have been asked to create a portrait to commemorate the Falcons accomplishment at this year's I.C.E. competition. We donated a 24" x 30" copy of the portrait, inscribed with each student's name, to the school, which should soon be on display in the main lobby of Sandy Run.

We all know the economy is not in the greatest shape these days. It has effected so many in more ways than we care to think.

On Sunday Irvin Schorsch of Pennsylvania Capital Management and I visited Face to Face at St Vincents on Price St in Germantown. We met lots of interesting people while volunteering to serve lunch to those in need. Irvin and his team volunteer on a monthly basis. They make sandwiches to dispurse and spend the afternoon serving a hot lunch.

Face to Face is an organization which provides free meals and other necessary services such as nurse managaged health care, legal and social services and programs for children to individuals and families in need of assistance. These images were created during Sarah's Expressions Session in the studio. After all the pre-planning I finally had the opportunity to meet Sarah. I walked into the studio and there were clothes everywhere. After selecting a few outfits and a quick trip home for Mom the session went amazingly well. We got lots of great shots; and I can safely say that lots of laughs were had by all including "Bob", but that's another story.

Saturday was a picture perfect day for the perfect couple. Robin and I arrived at the Hilton on City Avenue to begin coverage of Abbe and Andrew's wedding. The day couldn't have gone more smoothly.

The ceremony and reception were spectacular! The ballrooms were magnificently transformed to create an oasis by Ten Penny Florist & Decorators. To say that fun was had by all would be an understatement. I can not remember the last time I saw a dance floor jammed packed from the minute the band started playing and they were still celebrating when the DJ took over for the after party.

What a day! Weather was perfect and so were Jennifer, Wayne and their families and friends. Although I have only had the opportunity to know Jennifer and Wayne for a short period of time I feel like I've known them for years. There were many tears and more smiles as Jennifer's father, Bishop Morris, performed the ceremony. The celebration at the Hilton on City Avenue was fantastic. Everyone was so warm and friendly, couldn't ask for nicer folks to work with.

Had an unbelievable time in Rochester, NY this past weekend at Emilie & Brian's wedding. The day was to die for beautiful! This was a special wedding for me as I have know Emilie and her family for several years having done Emilie and her sister Janine's HS Senior portrait several years back. I have have also been honored to create family portraits as well.

The day began at the Genesee Valley Club, where Emilie and her girls prepared themselves for the days events. The ceremony was held at St. Louis Church in Pittsford. Then it was off to the George Eastman House in Rochester for formals. Eastman House is kind of going to the holy grounds of photography for me, and I enjoy each trip and photo experience there. After creating all the family portraits, bridal portraits and a few portraits of Emilie and Brian it was back to the Genesee Valley Club for a spectacular party! Great people, great day!

Happy 40th Anniversary

I was in Rochester, NY over the weekend to photograph the wedding of Emilie Herbison and Brian Drumm. Dick and Jocelyn, the parent's of our bride, were in the midst of celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary. This portrait of the Herbison family was created to commemorate their Anniversary at the Canal Park in Pittsford, NY.

While at the Canal park I created several images included this one of Brian and Emilie enjoying each other with a little more than 24 hours prior to their wedding ceremony!

Can't believe with all the bad weather reports that we had great weather on Saturday. I spent the afternoon at the Art Museum with Jennifer and Wayne, who's wedding is on September 5th.

We did a lot of walking, shooting and had great conversation and some laughs too. Someday I'll have to figure out why all those people were dressed in medieval cardboard... Anyway, I created this "Expressions Portrait" combining several of the images created during the afternoon!

Have to admit although there was much rain, Fallon and Shaun's wedding was anything but a washout! Amazed how calm Fallon was considering the rain delayed her arrival and our start by an hour! While waiting we were able to skip ahead and get great shots of Shaun, his family and the guys.

Children are always fun at a wedding, and Shaun's son Joshua was no exception. As you can see he did a great job as ringbearer!

We look forward to seeing Fallon & Shaun when they return from their honeymoon and taking them around Philadelphia creating more spectacular memories for them!
